People who don’t have this kind of relationship with anyone, friends or family, will never understand this.

I’d love to use your hard-boiled eggs to describe it. Looks dull and hard on the outside but very easily broken to reveal the warm, good stuff within.

Also, totally relate to the fact that many Asian parents (usually of a less “honourable” occupation) tend to use themselves (or others who are worse off) to scare us.

Surprisingly, it’s a brilliant tactic to scare kids with the right mindset to get off their butts and grind away.
