Sredhanea, I think this behaviour can be understood by how getting “new stuff” always feel better than “repairing old stuff”. We are always excited at getting something “new” instead of trying to “repair” our existing stuff.

Also, the increasingly prevalence of consumerism is just not helping. Most of us buy a lot of things that we don’t need just because we can. We need to cherish more of the things we already have, practice gratitude, especially when it comes to our current relationships.
